Hi! My name is Rachael, I'm a Registered Early Childhood Educator and a recent graduate of the University of Guelph. I have an undergraduate degree in Family Relations & Human Development, with a focus on Child, Youth, & Family studies. I've completed practicum placements that gave me experience in toddler, preschool, and school-age settings. Outside of the classroom, I also have experience working in outdoor education, overnight summer camps, nannying, and online learning programs. I started working at First Steps in January 2022 in a preschool room, & I've been loving it so far! I've always had a passion for learning, and am a strong believer in lifelong learning. When working with children, I believe the best learning comes from lived experiences and the connections we make with others. I hope to provide an environment where children feel free to explore their many curiosities and develop healthy relationships with others & themselves. As an educator, it's very important to me that each child feels seen, heard, and valued each and every day.
